BIO

I am a 27-year old professional rock climber. I started climbing at age 13 and spent 10 years traveling the world for international competitions with the lead French team.  During that time, I also graduated from a Master’s Degree in engineering with a major in energy efficiency. After many years of competing, I finally decided to let go and connect with the outdoor world. Since then, I really found my path and love discovering a whole new dimension related to climbing. I love being able to use my experience and expertise from my competition career for learning new activities such as trad, multi-pitch, ice climbing, mountaineering. I am simply in love with verticality!
I am always looking forward to new challenges and adventures, or in other words new ways to learn more about myself and evolve.

THE INSIGHTS

Why / How Did You Start Climbing: It all started when I was a little kid. I climbed everything that was on my way: trees, fences, balconies. When I stepped into a climbing gym for the first time at age 13, I instantly knew that it would become a devouring passion. I was instantly committed to the sport and at 16 I joined the lead French national team.

Favorite Climbing Destination: There are so many amazing climbing spots that I can’t just choose one. I would say that the south of France has everything I need. But I’m always looking forward to discovering new places around the world.

Memorable Climbing Achievement(s):
French National champion 2010 & 2016
Twice 4th in Lead World Cups 2015&2016
World ranked top 10 for many years

 In 3 Words What Describes Climbing To You: Freedom, Transcendence, Passion

How Do You Train: When I was a competitor, I used to train around 15 to 20 hours per week exclusively in a gym. Now that I am much more of an outdoor climber, I spend most of my time there, but I keep about 4 small sessions of specific physical preparation. I also like to do some indoor bouldering/lead as I find it’s a good way to keep a good shape for outdoors. Mainly I listen to my body and what I feel like doing which is a great indicator for me. I just feel what I need to do at a certain moment and it usually works great.

You Whip, You Slip, You Blow The Move... What Motivates You To Try Again: What always motivates me in the first place is the challenge to surpass a difficulty. It's always a new way to learn and improve my climbing. I'm also a real fighter and like to put myself out of my comfort zone.

What Do You Do When You're Not Climbing: I love being outdoors. It’s hard for me to rest at home. When I’m not climbing, I love to hike, run, bike or even paraglide, as long as I am in contact with nature.

When I really need to rest… I do a lot of “crafty” things: sewing mainly but also decorating and such. I like expressing myself in that way as well.
