As part of the Oberalp group Wild Country belongs to a family of outdoor brands that take corporate and social responsibility seriously. It is a choice we invest in, because we believe in it. We don’t see sustainability as a distant goal, but a mindset, reflected in our daily actions and decisions.
This is why we #contribute
To aim for Net Zero, we must first ascend the hill of factories best in class, social & environmental. Our path also leads via Circularity, not only in our product design but also in our processes. We are supported in our aim by state-of-the-art policies & processes, as well as strong data, tools & systems and we can only achieve it, if we work together as a team, as a group. This is us.

We promote high labour standards and safe working conditions
One of Wild Country’s priorities is the well-being of everyone who makes our products, not just our own employees.

Fair Wear Foundation
Wild Country is a Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) member, the most rigorous labour conditions expert we know of. FWF is a multi-stakeholder initiative dedicated to improving working conditions in the textile sector. We have been working with them since 2016, to make step-by-step improvements for the workers who make the clothes we sell. They help us monitor factories and assess our systems and progresses through a yearly Brand Performance Check.
All our partners respect our values and sign our Code of Conduct and Responsible Business Conduct
Net Zero
We are raising the bar for ourselves
We work to minimise our contribution to the climate crisis. In line with International Standards and Climate Science, we aim to reach Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. To get there, we must set a baseline year and develop effective reduction measures, obtain approval of our science based targets and drive their implementation across our operations. And of course, report on our progress.
Measuring our climate impact is a prerequisite for informed decision-making. Therefore, we have invested in building the data and processes needed to quantify our carbon footprint across all relevant scopes, following internationally recognized standards.
Chemical & Environmental Policy
Our efforts extend beyond our sustainability strategy and related goals. As part of our Factories Best in Class pillar, chemical management is firmly embedded in our requirements for production facilities, as well as in our Policies and Processes. The chemical safety of our products does not rely solely on product testing. It is supported by clearly defined requirements and control mechanisms that apply throughout our supply chain and must be implemented and adhered to by all suppliers.

The Forever Chemicals – PFAS
Why are they used?
The PFAS family includes hundreds of chemicals. They are used to make everyday products resistant to water and to ensure water repellency and permeability.
Why are they “forever”?
PFAS are persistent, they do not easily degrade in nature and can also travel through water and wind. Their use has been criticized because they are linked to negative effects on humans and wildlife.
Does Wild Country use PFAS?
No. Wherever durable water repellent (DWR) treatments are used in Wild Country products, PFAS-free alternatives are applied
