“Go Up Slowly”
JAMES PEARSON
BIO
Do you travel to climb, or climb to travel. That's a question I've been asking myself more and more. The world is huge but at the same time so small, I'm using climbing to get out there and see it all (or as much of it as I can) and along the way try to climb a beautiful route or two.
THE INSIGHTS
Why / How Did You Start Climbing: Climbing is something that always came quite naturally to me, even before I could call myself a climber. As a kid I'd always be found in places I shouldn't be
Favorite Climbing Destination: The New River Gorge
Memorable Climbing Achievement(s): Power Ranger, Le Voyage, Rhapsody, Somethings Burning, Muy Caliente, Airdrawn Dagger, Joy Division, Escalatamasters, The Walk Of Life, Equilibrium
In 3 Words What Describes Climbing To You: Go Up Slowly
How Do You Train: A mix of things, but mainly I try to train specifically for whatever project is coming next. There is no point in working on my power if I'm going to be ledge shuffling ground up trad for the next few weeks.
You Whip, You Slip, You Blow The Move... What Motivates You To Try Again: Because deep down you know you can
What Do You Do When You're Not Climbing: The list is long... DIY, Mtb, Wood Work, Van building, Video editing and general tinkering...
